WHAT WE TREAT

EATING DISORDER

For many individuals, the eating disorder is a means of survival, control, and comforting feelings. Individuals with eating disorders can use food to control unwanted or painful feelings, memories, or traumas. Some people purge food to get rid of feelings they may feel disgusting or unwanted.

SUBSTANCE ABUSE

Substance Use numbs the pain, quiets the mind, suppressed the self or feelings. Substances can change a person’s reality.

PTSD

Anger and trauma are connected to an individual's natural survival instinct. When an individual is initially confronted with a threat, anger is a normal response which covers over you.

SEX ADDICTION

We mistake fantasies for reality or let them become rigid. Your sexual fantasies provide you a necessary escape from the here and now. You have sexual urges and act on them.

ALCOHOLISM

Alcohol Addiction is a complex issue characterized by intense and at times, uncontrollable cravings and controlling thoughts. The cravings, along with compulsive alcohol seeking and use that persist despite devastating consequences.

SELF HARM

Approximately 25 percent of individuals who suffer from eating disorders, alcohol and Substance use addictions also participate in self-harming behavior. In and of itself the practice of an eating disorders and addictions could also be considered self-harming behavior.

GAMBLING

You lose control over gambling. The loss of control increases the risk you take, it involves an immediate reward. Gamblers most often develop unique strategies called skills which are "fixed beliefs" utilized to reduce the lack of uncertainty of losing but does not eliminate the risk.

We are here to help you reclaim control of your life!
